Save Time, Eat Healthy!

These days we are all under crunch time, rushing around from one task to another, there is pressure due to commitments to family, friends, relationships, work, home improvements, lawn care, car maintenance, bills, etc. The amount of time that is available is not enough to get everything done. One area of your life that often gets sacrificed is eating healthy and taking care of yourself. I wanted to help with some easy ideas to save time and eat healthy so you can be your best.

1) Frozen Fish: Fish is so good for your body it is loaded with nutrients and omega 3’s that your body needs. When you go to the grocery store load up on frozen fish. It is easy to store and cook. You can put some in the deep freeze and leave some defrosted for use for the week. It can be cooked both in the top of the stove on a pan, in the microwave or my preference on the grill. There is so many tasty varieties such as salmon, tilapia, grouper, and mahi mahi. One of the best for grilling is salmon it can be seasoned to your preference of hot, spicy, or mild. On the grill we are looking at about 9–10 minutes not bad for time saving.

2) Frozen Vegetables: Vegetables carry so many health benefits however you don’t have to go to a family or community farm for that organic experience your grocery has a varieties of frozen vegetables that may actually be healthier for you. They can be steamed or microwaved and in just a few minutes and you have healthy meal.

3) Pre-cut Vegetables: Most groceries have already cut vegetables in their produce aisle such as carrots, baby corn, squash, broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, peppers, and lettuce. These are convenient for salad, or if you prefer mix on pan on your stove, with some olive oil or soy sauce and you have a quick and easy stir fry.

4) Precooked meals: The weekend usually has some free time you can quickly make some meals that can be stored in containers for the week. You can label them Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday for lunch or for dinner just heat up in the stove or microwave. You can precook a Turkey Breast, Chicken, or Ham for several meals. Also the weekend is a excellent time to make soups, salads or chili. Pasta can be stored for easy usage spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine, spiral, tube, or bow tie chose your favorite and add meatballs, or sausage and you are done.

There is no reason not to live the good life, less stressed, and more healthy. These are just some ideas however there are countless others enjoy and have fun.
